SteamDB has published a list of games that generated the most revenue on Steam between July 23 and July 30.
The main new product of the week is the cooperative shooter about the fight against alien invaders Earth Defense Force 6 from Sandlot and D3Publisher, released in the West almost two years after the Japanese premiere. The game soared to fourth place, despite devastating reviews. At the start, the ratings were “extremely negative” (17% based on approximately 300), and now the rating is 52% (the number of reviews has increased to 3.2 thousand). At its peak, the shooter attracted 18,641 people.
The most common complaint was the connection to the Epic Games Store – when you launch the game, the services of a third-party store are automatically installed, without an account in which you cannot access the multiplayer (which the developers did not warn about). The publisher later apologized to customers, but the demand remained in force. In addition to this feature, users are dissatisfied with the lack of regional prices, outdated graphics and technical problems, including slow loading times. In terms of gameplay, the shooter is mostly praised – many put it above Helldivers 2.
Other events on the chart:
- Steam Deck remains the leader for the third week in a row;
- Call of Duty HQ immediately added 17 positions and became third – the surge in sales is explained by the start of the fifth season in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3;
- Space adventure No Man’s Sky, which returned to the top 100 last week, dropped from fourth place to fifth;
- The cooperative action game Chained Together returned to the top ten (seventh place);
