Microsoft is facing a new global outage of the Azure cloud, affecting a range of services – from the Outlook email service to the popular game Minecraft. Users around the world are also reporting difficulties connecting to the Azure cloud platform and problems working with Microsoft 365, Teams, OneDrive and Xbox Live.
«We are currently investigating access issues and performance degradation in several Microsoft 365 services and features,” Microsoft responded to user requests. According to the Azure status page, the outage began at 11:45 UTC (14:45 Moscow time) when a number of customers had problems connecting to Microsoft services around the world, including the Americas, Asia-Pacific, Europe and the Middle East. The company said it had made changes to the network configuration and also deployed alternative routes.
Service availability has increased since approximately 14:10 UTC (17:10 Moscow time), but the outages have not yet been completely resolved. In particular, problems with CDN and Azure Front Door services are still being observed around the world. Let us recall that quite recently a large-scale failure occurred in the Microsoft Azure cloud, which coincided in time with a global failure due to an unsuccessful update of CrowdStrike’s security software for PCs on Windows, which brought down the work of many companies and services.
