Ryzen 7 5800XT and Ryzen 9 5900XT processors based on Zen 3 architecture may go on sale simultaneously with Ryzen 9000 chips based on Zen 5 in August, according to some retailers.
At Computex 2024 in early June, AMD unveiled four Ryzen 9000 series desktop processors based on the latest Zen 5 architecture, as well as two Ryzen 5000XT series models based on the older Zen 3 architecture. All of these new products were initially expected to go on sale on July 31. However, AMD has officially delayed the launch of Zen 5 models by up to two weeks. In turn, nothing is officially known about the start of sales of the Ryzen 7 5800XT and Ryzen 9 5900XT.
AMD Ryzen 9 5900XT is a 16-core processor operating in the frequency range from 3.3 to 4.8 GHz. It has four more cores than the Ryzen 9 5900X, but the new one is 400 MHz slower. In turn, the Ryzen 7 5800XT received eight cores with a frequency of 3.8 to 4.8 GHz, which is 100 MHz higher than the Ryzen 7 5800X.
According to information from a major Western retailer B&H Photo Video, orders for the Ryzen 7 5800XT will begin to be accepted on August 8, and for the Ryzen 9 5900XT on August 15. Let us remind you that the launch of the Ryzen 5 9600X and Ryzen 7 9700X models will also take place on August 8. And the older models Ryzen 9 9900X and Ryzen 9 9950X are expected to go on sale from August 15.
AMD still has not announced the recommended cost of the new Ryzen 5000XT and Ryzen 9000 processors.
