“I prayed for this day to come”: the new patch for Elden Ring and Shadow of the Erdtree brought with it a long-awaited gameplay improvement

Publisher Bandai Namco and developers from the FromSoftware studio have released update 1.13 for Elden Ring and the Shadow of the Erdtree add-on. It includes a number of balance adjustments and several welcome improvements.

Since the release of Elden Ring, in order to summon the spectral steed Flux after his death in battle, it was necessary to spend precious seconds selecting the “Yes” option in the pop-up window instead of “Cancel” – now the option is highlighted automatically.

Despite the apparent insignificance of the improvement, in a discussion on the Reddit forum, many were delighted with the change. Some have been waiting for him for more than two years. “I’ve been praying for this day to come,” Messmers said.

In a similar vein, 1.13 made it easier to summon NPCs in battles with certain bosses – now only one click to summon them – and also made some of these assistants (Ledoux, Ansbach, Thiolier) stronger.

In addition, the update strengthened many of the summoned spirits, making them more stable, with general pumping after +8 and upgrading the ashes of the glorious spirit (in Shadow of the Erdtree) after the fifth level.

Among other things, the changelog contains a large number of balance adjustments to equipment, weapon skills and spells, a number of bug fixes, and the promise of “several performance improvements.”

Elden Ring and Shadow of the Erdtree are available on PC (Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S. Sales in two and a half years reached 25 million copies, and 5 million people bought the add-on within three days of release.
