AMD has denied several media reports that it has postponed sales of Ryzen 5000XT processors. A company representative confirmed to Tom’s Hardware that the Ryzen 9 5900XT and Ryzen 7 5800XT chips will be released before the end of this month. In other words, the new items will go on sale tomorrow, July 31st.
«The rules [for the timing] of the ban on the sale of [Ryzen] 5000XT processors have not changed,” an AMD representative responded to a request from Tom’s Hardware.
The information that AMD could postpone the launch of Ryzen 5000XT processors to August was indirectly confirmed by data from a large American retailer B&H Photo Video, which indicated on its website that the Ryzen 7 5800XT will go on sale on August 8, and the Ryzen 9 5900XT on August 15. That is, simultaneously with the new Ryzen 9000 processors, the launch of which was postponed from July 31 and divided into two dates. However, AMD confirmed that the postponement of the start of sales of Ryzen 9000 processors on the Zen 5 architecture for the AM5 platform did not affect the Ryzen 5000XT models on the Zen 3 architecture for the Socket AM4 platform.
The AMD Ryzen 9 5900XT is a 16-core processor operating at a frequency range of 3.3 to 4.8 GHz. It has four more cores than the Ryzen 9 5900X, but the new one is 400 MHz slower. It has 64 MB of L3 cache and a TDP of 105 W. In turn, the Ryzen 7 5800XT received eight cores with a frequency of 3.8 to 4.8 GHz, which is 100 MHz higher than the Ryzen 7 5800X, as well as 32 MB of L3 cache. Its TDP is also 105 W.
