Developers from Larian Studios reported that following an unexpected delay, closed beta testing of the seventh major patch for the fantasy role-playing game Baldur’s Gate 3 has finally started on Steam.

Let us remind you that the “beta” of the update was supposed to begin on July 22, but the developers encountered a critical bug – passive dice rolls (backstage skill or stat checks) stopped working.

They promised to launch the test before the end of the week, but they completed it in three days: on July 25, the “dice rolled” again. Those selected to participate from those who applied should see an option to download the test version in their Steam library.

Larian does not specify exactly how long the closed beta will last, but promises to involve more participants in the tests during it – the access request button is still active on the Baldur’s Gate 3 page on Steam.

The two main features of the seventh patch will be the expansion of “evil” endings (for Dark Seduction, other characters with backstory and unique heroes) and tools for modding along with a mod manager.

The update also promises dynamic split-screen, new legendary actions in Valor mode and the ability to activate its elements in custom mode, performance improvements and much more.

The seventh patch for Baldur’s Gate 3 will be released in September on PC (Steam, GOG), Mac, PS5, Xbox Series X and S. The update will not be the last: the game is still awaiting cross-play, photo mode, additional gameplay innovations, and the like.
