This week, Apple released a web version of its own mapping service, Apple Maps. Thanks to this, users can now search for addresses, get directions for trips and walks, and view ratings and reviews not only in the Apple Maps application, but also in the desktop or mobile versions of the browser by interacting with the web version of the service.
To start interacting with maps, just go to beta.maps.apple.com. The page address indicates that at this stage the project is in beta testing, but despite this, it is available to users. Already now, the web version of Apple Maps has implemented most of the features available in the iOS application, including the function of viewing guides, the ability to order food, obtain information about organizations on the map, etc. It is also known that in the future Apple plans to add to the web version its mapping service has more functions.
Currently, the web version of Apple Maps is available in English only and is supported in Safari and Chrome browsers on Macs and iPads, and Chrome and Edge on Windows computers. In the future, Apple plans to expand the number of available languages, browsers and platforms. In addition, all developers using the Apple MapKit JS tool can also use the web version of Apple Maps in their products.
