The Cybertruck electric pickup truck from Elon Musk-led Tesla is preparing for its official video game debut in the free-to-play battle royale Fortnite.
Let us remember that since the demonstration of the concept in November 2019, Cybertruck has been added to GTA V, Cyberpunk 2077, Rocket League, Minecraft and other projects, but until now the pickup truck has appeared in games only thanks to modders.
The partnership between Epic Games and Tesla is official. The Cybertruck will hit the Fortnite roads tomorrow, July 23rd. The announcement was accompanied by a 25-second trailer in the style of videos with cars tug-of-war.
In the comments to the announcement, users rushed to highlight all the shortcomings of the Cybertruck as a car: it is difficult to wash, it rusts quickly, does not have good off-road handling, is prone to breakdowns, and so on.
Under the trailer on YouTube, Tesla’s electric pickup truck has already been called “the first controllable trash can”, “the first low-poly model in Fortnite” and “perfect for the car destruction season.”
According to The Gamer, many players are also preparing to open the hunt for characters who will use the Cybertruck in Fortnite. It doesn’t sound like pay-to-win, but like pay-to-lose.
Starting May 24th (and continuing through August 24th), Fortnite’s Shattered Season is underway. It added a Mad Max-style wasteland, new skins, weapons, and a host of changes focused on vehicular combat.
