Xiaomi today introduced several new smartphones to the general public, including the foldable Mix Fold 4 and Mix Flip. At the same time, the vendor announced the Redmi K70 Ultra, which, judging by its characteristics, will be among the most powerful Android-based smartphones, but will be offered at a very affordable price.
The device received a 6.67-inch OLED display with support for 1.5K resolution. A panel with a refresh rate of 144 Hz, a touch sampling rate of 480 Hz and a peak brightness of 4000 cd/m² is used. The screen supports PWM backlight brightness adjustment at a frequency of 3840 Hz. The display is protected from damage by Dragon Crystal Glass. The hole at the top of the screen houses the 20-megapixel front-facing camera.
The triple main camera is built around a 1/1.56-inch 50 MP Sony IMX906 sensor (f/1.7) with support for optical image stabilization. It works together with a wide-angle 8-megapixel module with a viewing angle of 119º and a 2-megapixel sensor for macro photography. It supports shooting 8K video at up to 30 frames per second, 4K at up to 60 frames per second, and 1080p at up to 960 frames per second. The smartphone case is protected from dust and moisture according to the IP68 standard.
The flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ microprocessor is responsible for the performance of the Redmi K70 Ultra. It works in combination with the proprietary Xiaomi Pengpai T1 chip, which is designed to enhance communication signals (Wi-Fi by 12%, GPS by 20%, 5G by 58%). The developers also equipped the new product with Surge P2 chips for fast charging, G1 for power management and D1 for increasing the frame rate in games and increasing the power of the graphics subsystem when working with resource-intensive applications. The energy source is a 5500 mAh battery with support for fast charging up to 120 W.
Redmi K70 Ultra has dimensions of 160.38 × 75.14 × 8.39 mm and weighs 211 g. We also note the presence of a pair of stereo speakers, an integrated fingerprint scanner in the screen area, an NFC chip, and support for two SIM cards.
