Repetition is the mother of learning: Devolver has announced a tactical roglite in the kung fu style Forestrike

Publisher Devolver Digital and developers from the Japanese Skeleton Crew Studio (Olija) presented a new joint project – a tactical kung fu roglite Forestrike. The announcement was accompanied by a gameplay trailer.

Forestrike players will take on the role of a martial artist named Yu who must cross the country to free the emperor from the captivity of an evil admiral. Many enemies will stand in the way of the hero, but he has a secret weapon.

We are talking about the supernatural gift of foresight – it will allow you to mentally conduct the upcoming battle and select the ideal sequence of movements necessary to defeat an outnumbered enemy.

Each battle in Forestrike is a puzzle that players will only have one attempt to solve once the actual battle begins. If he dies in reality, the hero is thrown back to the start of the passage.

After each death, the battles and environment for the next race are generated anew, but some of the progress made will be retained: “Even the winner does not always come out of battle unscathed, but the further Yu goes, the stronger he will become.”

They promise a picturesque magical world, “beautiful pixel landscapes,” unusual characters (many of whom you will have to fight), furious puzzle battles and hand-animated heroes.

Forestrike is expected to be released in 2025 in versions for PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch. Among the supported languages, only English is listed so far, so the list of localizations will probably be updated.
