Zeekr started this week by demonstrating a new electric crossover covered in camouflage film, designated CX1e, which should hit the market before the end of the year. Without keeping the intrigue for long, the automaker published official photos of the new product and revealed the main characteristics of the car, which was named Zeekr 7X.
It’s hard to go wrong when choosing a niche for positioning the new model – it will be a family crossover, competing with the Tesla Model Y and its classmates. The five-seat crossover, according to Zeekr representatives cited by the CnEVPost resource, was created with an eye on the preferences of Chinese families. Built on Geely’s SEA architecture, the vehicle measures 4825 x 1930 x 1656 mm (L x W x H) and has a wheelbase of 2915 mm. The XPeng G9 crossover, familiar to the Chinese public, generally has dimensions comparable to the Zeekr 7X.
The new platform involves the use of an 800-volt architecture, which allows you to quickly replenish the range when connected to powerful charging stations – the equivalent of a 500 km range in 15 minutes, for example. In all-wheel drive form, the Zeekr 7X is equipped with a 165 kW electric motor on the front axle and another on the rear, which has a power of 310 kW. The total power of the power plant in this case reaches 475 kW, which corresponds to 646 hp. This car accelerates to 100 km/h in less than four seconds. The Zeekr 7X will also be offered in rear-wheel drive with a single 310 kW (420 hp) electric motor.
Among the exterior features, it should be noted the presence of a proprietary external Zeekr Stargate display in place of the false radiator grille, which can be used to demonstrate various kinds of information messages or display simple animations. A lidar was spotted on the roof of the electric vehicle, which allows us to count on the presence of developed active driver assistance systems.
