Smartphones of the Huawei Pura 70 series turned out to be much more popular than their predecessors of the P60 series, writes Huawei Central, citing insider information. As SINA Technology reported on the Weibo social network, currently shipments of Huawei Pura 70 smartphones exceed sales of last year’s P60 series by 125% year-on-year.
This data is in line with the forecast of analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who expected significant shipments of the Huawei Pura 70 in the first half of the year and said that thanks to the use of new Kirin chips with 5G, shipments of the Pura 70 series will increase by 100% compared to the P60 in on an annual basis. This report also confirms a previous leak regarding the supply of Huawei Pura 70 smartphones, according to which sales of these smartphones are close to the 2 million mark.
According to TechInsights, Huawei has sold more than 6.2 million Mate 60 Pro smartphones in 5 months since the release, which became the first devices on the new Kirin chips. Huawei Pura 70 is expected to double this figure. Analysts estimate that more than 10 million flagship Pura 70 models will be sold in 2024.
The Huawei Pura 70 series initially included four models: Pura 70, Pro, Pro+ and Ultra. Then came the Pura 70 Satellite SMS Edition smartphone, which, like the Pro+ and Ultra models, supports sending and receiving SMS messages via satellite communications. All smartphones run on Kirin chips with 5G.
