Google, Nvidia, Intel, OpanAI and other IT giants created the “Coalition for Safe Artificial Intelligence”

Google, OpenAI, Microsoft, Amazon, Nvidia, Intel and other major players in the artificial intelligence market announced the creation of the “Coalition for Secure Artificial Intelligence” (CoSAI). The initiative aims to address the “fragmented AI security landscape” by providing access to open source methodologies, platforms and tools.

Exactly what impact CoSAI wants to have on the artificial intelligence industry is unknown. It is likely that issues of protecting confidential information and discriminatory problems of AI will become one of the areas of work of this organization.

IBM, PayPal, Cisco and Anthropic have also joined the CoSAI initiative. CoSAI will exist within the Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards (OASIS), a non-profit group that promotes the development of open standards. CoSAI highlights three main areas of focus: developing effective AI security practices, addressing common challenges in AI, and securing AI-powered applications.

«We have been using AI for many years and see the benefits it can bring. But we also recognize its potential, which may be of interest to attackers. CoSAI is designed to help organizations small and large securely and responsibly integrate and leverage the benefits of AI in their ecosystems, while mitigating any potential risks associated with it,” Heather Adkins, Google’s vice president of security, said in a statement.
