Nintendo games appeared in the catalog of the cloud service VK Play Cloud without warning (and for a short time): the action adventure The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and the life simulator Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Let us remind you that VK Play Cloud launches PC games on its own remote servers, and then broadcasts the gameplay to the end user via the Internet, which allows you to play even demanding blockbusters on weak machines.
In the case of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the situation is more complicated, since these projects were not released outside the Nintendo Switch hybrid console, but they found a way out in VK Play Cloud.
As it turned out, both projects are launched on VK Play Cloud via the Yuzu (1734) emulator. In the case of Zelda, patches were installed on the game with support for 60 fps, graphics fixes and improved optimization.
As for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, VK Play Cloud technical support assured that when launching the game through the service, the user has access to “all functions, including network functions.”
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Animal Crossing: New Horizons were available to subscribers of the Comfort (1,999 rubles per month) and Premium (3,599 rubles) tariffs, but soon after discovery the games disappeared from the service.
It is worth noting that in March, Nintendo stopped the development of the Yuzu emulator, and its creators agreed to pay the platform holder $2.4 million. The company is also actively preventing the distribution of Yuzu analogues.
