Two weeks after the Chinese presentation, the gaming smartphone Red Magic 9S Pro goes on sale in the international market. The more powerful Red Magic 9S Pro+ smartphone, which was presented along with it, will remain exclusive to the Middle Kingdom.
Red Magic 9S Pro is offered in the international market in two configurations with different storage capacities, and each of them is available in two colors. Red Magic 9S Pro with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of flash memory is available in Sleet (black) and Frost (white) colors for $649. The Red Magic 9S Pro version with 16 and 512 GB of memory is available in Snowfall (silver) and Cyclone (transparent black) colors.
The Red Magic 9S Pro Frost version will go on sale in mid-September, while the remaining models will be available for pre-order starting July 23.
Red Magic 9S Pro is based on an overclocked version of the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Version processor. The 6.8-inch BOE Q9+ OLED screen with a resolution of 2480 × 1116 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz has a maximum brightness of 1600 cd/m2 and supports PWM backlight dimming at a frequency of 2160 Hz. There is also a 16-megapixel sub-screen camera for selfies and a pair of touch triggers on the side faces with a frequency of 520 Hz and an updated backlight design.
The main camera of the smartphone is equipped with a 50-megapixel Samsung GN5 sensor measuring 1/1.57 inches with optical image stabilization, as well as a 50-megapixel sensor with wide-angle optics. The 6500 mAh battery supports 80 W wired charging. To control the smartphone, Red Magic 9.5 OS with AI functions, built on Android 14, is used.
