In honor of the 15th anniversary of Minecraft, a special version of Beats Solo 4 headphones has been released

Apple-owned audio brand Beats has had a history of collaborating with fashion designers and other members of the art world, and the brand’s latest partnership resulted in a special edition of the Beats Solo 4 headphones in honor of the 15th anniversary of Minecraft.

Functionally, these are the same Solo 4 that debuted in the spring, but they are distinguished by a unique Minecraft-style design: the text logo of the game on the top of the headband, as well as pixel patterns on the rest of its sections and the outside of the ear pads. Even Beats’ own logo is neon green. The Minecraft branding extends to the Solo 4 headphone case, with the same neon green Beats logo and raised Minecraft pixel patterns on the front.

Like the standard Beats Solo 4, the nylon case has a zipper closure. It provides space for the headphones themselves and small pockets for the included USB Type-C – USB Type-C and 3.5 mm – 3.5 mm cables. Buyers of the Beats x Minecraft Special Edition Solo 4 also receive a free code that can be used to create a game character while wearing headphones. Beats Solo 4 is connected to the sound source either via Bluetooth or via a wired connection: USB Type-C or 3.5 mm. In the first case, the headphones offer up to 50 hours of battery life, and Fast Fuel fast charging in just ten minutes will give up to five more hours of work. Active noise reduction is not provided, but this is compensated by the natural sound insulation of the structure.

The built-in Beats chip provides seamless integration with iOS and Android devices: one-touch wireless connection, automatic settings sync via iCloud or Google Drive, and support for Apple Find My and Google Find My Device services. For iOS users, the always-on voice assistant Siri and Audio Sharing are also available – wirelessly connecting two headphones to one sound source.

As part of the collaboration, a commercial was released featuring the latest song “Wake Up” by Imagine Dragons; streamer TinaKitten curates a special playlist with spatial audio on Apple Music; and tomorrow, July 18, she and Travis Mills will hold a special session in New York. The Beats x Minecraft Special Edition Solo 4 headphones go on sale on July 18th for $199.99 in the US and £199.99 in the UK.
